Pavevolution’s, Kandla Grey is a classic sandstone both vintage and modern. It’s rich grey tones make each slab unique in beauty, fit for any home garden design. The natural stone surface is riven in effect. The tapered edges, slightly rough but can easily create straight lines. It’s very easy to see why this traditional stone still continues to be one of the most popular of sandstone’s.
Formed million of years ago, Indian sandstone is a sedimentary stone, which consists of small grains which are held together by a silicon ‘natural cement’. It’s this ‘cement’ that gives the sandstone it’s wide ranging variations in colour and texture. Silicon is a very tough substance, which is why sandstone is so hard wearing.
Pavevolution’s, Kandla Grey riven surface is created expertly by splitting the flagstones by chisel and hand. The natural split results in a rough, uneven surface texture with occasional ridges, with each piece being unique. The edges are formed slightly rough to match. The qualities of having calibrated stone make for a more accurate even thickness, making installation easier to lay. The properties of Indian sandstone is both durable and frost resistant, flourishing under the coldest of British climates. It’s these conditions which make for a hard wearing stone, perfect for internal or external use. The stone will weather over time to give a more natural appearance. It requires minimal maintenance, cleaning in the autumn months.
Calibrated to 22mm. This sandstone is for all conservatory flooring, pathways, garden patios, planters, terraces and pool surroundings.
