Formed millions of years ago, Indian sandstone is a sedimentary stone, which consists of small grains that are held together by a silicon ‘natural cement’. It is this ‘cement’ that gives the sandstone it’s wide-ranging variations in colour and texture. Silicon is a very tough substance, which is why sandstone is so hard-wearing.

Pavevolution’s sawn six-sided honed paving undergoes a process of sandblasting, which is then polished laying bare its natural beauty. Unlike the classic looking Kandla Grey where it is noticeably course on the surface, the subtle smooth texture is slightly roughened to one or more of the side’s surface. Not only does this make the process of installation even easier to lay, but the stone is also visible even in thickness. Its hard-wearing qualities are perfect for outdoor and even indoor use.  Indian Sandstone is both durable and frost resistant and will flourish in the British climate. The stone will weather over time, revealing a more natural appearance. It requires minimal maintenance, cleaning in the autumn months.
