PLEASE NOTE: Some companies offer the crate with ‘jointing gap’ already included in the total coverage. For example, if we added jointing gap with our 18.5sqm patio kit coverage we could in fact charge for 19.5sqm or 20sqm. While this is not regulated, CHECK what your actually getting. If your project requires you to purchase multiply crates you could be losing money for nothing.

The jointing gap is referred to the gaps when the stone is laid side by side.

It’s important to note to ALWAYS leave a gap between the stones to allow the stone to expand and contract.

If you choose to BUTT JOINT your paving stone, which is to lay without any gaps we wouldn’t advise this method.

The edging of the paving stone can be described as below;

Hand-cut, chiselled and fettled refer to professional workers splitting the paving stone and leaving the edging as natural to match the surface.

Sawn or machine-cut refer to the stone being cut through a machine process. The stone is passed through a machine and cut to provide straight edges and lines. This type of edging is easier to butt joint.
